Vikram Chatwal is the founder of and visionary behind Vikram Chatwal Hotels, an international collection of upscale hotels located in the world's most desirable locations. His portfolio of properties includes names like Dream Hotels, Night Hotels, The Chatwal New York and the Plaza Hotel. Vikram got his start in the hotel industry in 1999, after spending several years working for Morgan Stanley in New York. Mr. Chatwal is an international tastemaker. He was named one of the world's most eligible bachelors by Radar Magazine and received the Entrepreneur of the Year award at the first South Asia Media Awards in 2005; in 2006 he was featured on the cover of Forbes Asia. He has also appeared in a number of films and mingles with many of Hollywood's most influential individuals.

Lakshmi is a thirteen-year-old girl who lives with her family in a small hut on a mountain in Nepal. When the Himalayan monsoons wash away all that remains of the family's crops, Lakshmi's father says she must leave home and take a job to support her family. He introduces her to a glamorous stranger who tells her she will find her a job as a maid in the city. Glad to be able to help, Lakshmi journeys to India and arrives at "Happiness House" full of hope. But she soon learns the unthinkable truth: she has been sold into prostitution...
