
Darshana Rajendran
Darshana Rajendran is an Indian actress in the Malayalam film industry. Darshana debuted her acting career in the 2014 Malayalam film John Paul Vaathil Thurakkunnu (2014). She then acted in Samarpanam (2017) and Tamil movie Kavan (2017). Mayaanadhi (2017) directed by Aashiq Abu gave her a break and made her a more recognizable actor.
Her other films include Virus (2019) directed by Aashiq Abu, Vijay Superum Pournamiyum (2019) directed by Jis Joy, Koode (2018) directed by Anjali Menon and Thuramukham (2022) directed by Rajeev Ravi. Darshana also bagged character roles in Tamil films like (link=tt7179784/).
She did her schooling at Saudi Arabia. After schooling, she graduated in Mathematics from Lady Shri Ram College,Delhi. Later she completed her Master's degree in Financial Economics from City College, University of London. She then worked in a private firm in Chennai in the field of micro economics. She had developed interest in acting during her work days in Chennai and has been a part of numerous stage performances as well.
Her breakthrough role as a lead came from the movie C U Soon (2020). Shot during the pandemic, and made as an experimental movie meant for digital streaming platforms, C U Soon, immediately strikes a chord with critics and viewers alike. The movie got a lot of praise for it's ambitious making style, that stretched the possibilities for story telling, as well us for the stellar performances of its cast. She subsequently appeared in Irul (2021), another film with Fahadh Faasil, also shot during the pandemic. These two movies established her as a bankable leading actor.
Darshana next appeared in (link=t14097924), an anthology film, as part of an ensemble cast. She then appeared in Hridayam (2022), playing her name sake. The movie was a commercial and critical success and is a milestone in her career. She also appeared in a TV mini series Unpaused: Naya Safar (2022)
Along with acting, Darshana has also sung playback for some of her movies including Hridayam, Sarcas Circa and Vijay Superum Pournamiyum.
Her upcoming movies are Dear Friend (2022), The Harbour, and Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya He.
