Dr Yusof Mutahar is an Australian doctor, author, academic and motivational speaker. He is also a former Judo athlete and holds a black belt in the sport. He has published three medical books titled "ECG simplified by Dr Yusof Mutahar", "Secondary Causes of Hypertension in General Practice", "An Approach to Hypercalcaemia in General Practice" and a non medical book termed "Poems By Dr Yusof Mutahar." He founded two medical companies named Dr Yusof Cosmetics and Dr Yusof Scrubs. In 2019, he released his first medical related album. Dr Yusof Mutahar is a Qari of the Quran and has released several albums in Arabic recitation. Early Life : Yusof Mutahar was born in Perth Western Australia on the 18th March 1990. His parents are Mohammad Mutahar and Mariam (both of Afghan heritage) and his father is also a doctor by occupation. Education & Career: Mutahar studied at Hale School and graduated in 2007 to pursue a career in Medicine. In 2013, he become a doctor by achieving his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBBS) from the University of Western Australia at the age of 23. In 2018, at the age of 28, Mutahar received his specialization and fellowship in General Practice from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). Dr Mutahar became a general practitioner because he believed that preventative health was the most important contribution in reducing mortality and sickness and more could be done for patients in primary health care and in the consulting rooms than the Cath lab. Athletic career: Mutahar is a black belt in Judo and in 2018 he competed for Australia in the U81 kg category in Judo. His has won numerous Gold medals at state and national level in the sports of Judo and Taekwondo. He is often regarded as a natural athlete. Acting and modeling : Dr Yusof Mutahar was approached to play role of a doctor in a foreign film were he received critical acclaim. He has also been involved in modeling for many fitness, sports and men's fashion brands. He is known for his smile, brown eyes and general physique. Social work: Dr Yusof Mutahar is involved in charity and humanitarian work particularly in Afghanistan. He has contributed to the development of health-care systems to support patients in third world countries. Personal Life: Mutahar is married and has three children. He enjoys surfing and horse riding. He is a practicing Muslim and a Qari of the Quran.
